Dual layer DVD burnerDual layer DVD burner devices are becoming more and more available for the ordinary user as well as powerful PCs. These burners, both internal and external, can burn double layer DVDs (these are the DVDs just like you buy from the store, but until now we haven't had the technology to burn to this format). A dual layer DVD burner can also burn DVD-R (the most universal format) and DVD+R, as well as other formats including VCD. Dual layer DVD burner is coming and this is terrific news for all of us home video editors. This is a great time to invest in a dual layer DVD burner. The prices are excellent as well, having dropped in some cases hundreds of dollars in just the last couple of years. Dual layer DVD burner users, however, are facing the problem that so few of us are having success burning our projects to DVDs so we can watch them on our home TVs or send them to our friends and families. There are a number of reasons for this. Dual layer DVD burner is equipment that you don't skimp on when purchasing. With so many excellent burners out there from top name manufacturers such as Lite-On, Sony, and HP, there is no reason to buy dual layer DVD burner from a "no name" manufacturer. That will only lead to frustration in the end, despite the $50 or so you may initially save. Even with the best dual layer DVD burner, the best computer and software, and the best intentions, not all DVD discs will play on all DVD players. The problem comes down to the simple fact that not every DVD player is compatible with the "universal" DVD format written by a dual layer DVD burner: DVD+/-R. While most of the newer DVD players (those created in the past year or so) will play DVD+/-R discs just fine, many of the "older" DVD players (more than 2 years old) aren't capable of playing these discs well, if at all. Dual layer DVD burner will run faster if you have fast computer with high speed processor and huge RAM. Your computer will have of staying in synch with the dual layer DVD burner to deliver the data it needs on time. Dual layer DVD burner will also show the best results when your hard drive is formatted for NTSF, not FAT32. It's faster and allows for large partitions. | |||||||||||||||||||||||
